I am explicitly displeased with the LaCie NAS offerings. I had a RAID 1 destroy the directory on a good drive when I replaced a bad drive according to their directions. It's own backup mechanism fails before backing up all the drives on it. It's also not Mac or Microsoft OS, causing some issues when you try to use standard tools to access or service it (like Time Machine to back it up). Not happy; strongly considering a Mac Mini or even an old laptop as a server with storage attached, rather than a standalone NAS.
