Do me a favor and the next time AE quits (if it happens again), see if Photoshop is running. If it is, quit it and then see if AE will now launch. I have reported a bug where if Photoshop is using up too much of the available OpenGL memory (10 or more docs open) on my MacBook Pro, then AE will not launch. I wonder if this might be related?
