I had assumed that, like buying a car or insurance, when you buy anything on a "payment plan," you end up paying more in "interest." However, it's cheaper to upgrade annually (or whenever) than it is to buy a full license. So, while it seems cheaper to buy a subscription, it may in fact be more expensive. Has anybody done a cost comparison over time? I have been using AE since 1997 and photoshop since 1995 and this is the first time I have been able to have the software at home (I could never afford the full price).
