A big issue is getting the disk to work reliably is booktype (bitsetting) setting. This applies to burning your own as well as anyone make dupes (as opposed to replication). I always set book-type to DVD-ROM (which is not standard) – you need both software a drive that allows boooktype setting. Especially if you burn a DL disk, many of those with booktype left to default DVR+R DL won’t play reliably in all players.
