I should have mentioned in the original post that I only have the broadcast edition, so the sculpting isn't going to be available to me until I spend another $2400 on it. That is really what kills the upgrade for me.

Yes, sculpting is not that useful to some users (including moi) in the sense of really sculpting something, but it will pay off in the future (see my blog for more thoughts: http://myleniumblog.com/2012/08/02/cinema-zd/). Alembic is a huge step for using AtomKraft in AE or using other 3D programs/ renderers either way....
