Re: [AE] 3D animated line in AE?
Yeah, I’d played with using Beam but figured there may be a more elegant method. However, with the expressions it may end but being easier than the way I was approaching it.
Thanks!

If the lines are straight then you can easily fake the 3d using the beam effect and some expressions.
These are not real 3d so lines will have the same pixel width.
Here is a link.

3D animated line in AE?
I’ll try to put this as simply as possible.
In a 3D program I have four points (nulls) that are moving independently, and then a camera move that rotates around the scene.
I have no problem getting the nulls and the camera move into AE.
However, what I need to do is have a line in AE connect these dots. Ultimately, I want to animate dashes along this line.
Really, the fact that this is coming from a 3D program doesn’t matter. Just imagine four nulls in AE, each moving a bit in 3D space, and then a camera move as well. How can I get a line to connect those four nulls?
Thanks in advance!
