| In the end I just used mocha to track an object in the scene and applied that tracking data to get the movement back. Warp stabilizer was pretty awesome though, it locked this shot very quickly (made it very easy to composite then), quicker then with mocha, nuke or fusion if i had to do it that way. Could've been the shot, but very very nice. Gary Berendsen - VFX Generalist Czaar Peter Straat 157-159 1018 PJ Amsterdam +31614385398
I'm not sure that it can be translated to AE, but typically in Nuke/Shake/Flame/etc if we're trying to reverse engineer a voodoo transform, we just run a UV map through the stabilize or whatever it is (0-1, U & V space). This gives you the transform and then from there you can easily invert it or massage it.
Now, how you'd do that in AE or if the Warp Stabilizer would be stable enough (or return results that are usable with a UV map) I'm not quite sure. But I could see this being pretty valuable. Might be nice if they exposed more guts in the warp stabilizer so you could get at the keyframes (if there are keyframes?). I guess it might be a completely external compiled thing that AE is just playing the host and shuffling pixels to.

Is there anyway to stabilize a shot and then mask and then putting the reverse stabilized data across the shot to make it shakey again?
