I need some ideas on how to install the CS4 AE Render Engine (the headless renderer) on a recycled HP Proliant Server. It's older, but much faster in the processor department than my laptop (Dual processor Xeon 3.8Ghx w/HT vs. Core 2 Duo Dual Core 2.4GHz w/HT). The issue is that it has a CD drive rather than a DVD drive, and I have no USB drive available. I'd rather not go through the rigamarole of making a disc image and mounting it as a virtual disc, although that is certainly in my prior experience. I'm sure it can be found in the torrenting community, but that's likely to be virus infested. So, any other ideas? If it makes any difference, I have the Education Version of Master Suite CS4, and it shows up under my account with the correct serial number when I log into Adobe.com P.S. I thought of swapping the DVD drive to the server temporarily, but the server uses SCSI hard drives, so I'm inclined to think that the Sata DVD drive from the laptop would not be compatible. I haven't looked at what the CD Drive connects via though, that's one of the things I'll check tomorrow.
