An old technique but still useful:
Animate some fractal noise, so that it evolves over time and is moving vertically in the frame. Pre-compose this noise, then use the pre-comp as a displacement map for the vector graphic.
Does anyone have a good technique for animating fire? I am not looking for a process to create fire, but a good animation technique to create the movement of fire. I want to take a vector-based graphic and animate it.
