| re:flex warp is the tool you need for this. it will make your life a whole lot easier than trying to hack away at it with other methods.
however, you could use the reshape tools to do a morph, ive done it in the past. its not as smooth going as reflex but not impossible

I cannot recommend the Revision plugins enough. They have by far the best warping/morphing workflow which will ultimately lead to the best results. Well worth their price, if $600 is too much for a morphing job you are giving your client the deal of the century.
Also don't forget that once you buy it it will be a tool you can use on other jobs. Re:Flex Warp is a plugin you will use often, I guarantee it.

Your instincts are pretty correct greg. While possible to use free form pro or distort -> reshape, your results are probably not going to be great even with many hours of effort. I'd stay away from pixel motion frame blending... in my experience it's pretty crap for something as complicated as a facial morph. If the client can't afford it, maybe suggest an alternative effect. Otherwise you may be banging your head against the wall
Hey everyone.
A client of mine has asked if I can do morphing.. mostly interfacial and possible other situations.
I've looked around, and although RE:Flex seems to be the best option, the client's budget won't really lend itself to purchasing a $600 plugin for this project.
I've looked around, and the only 2 other options I've found, is to exploit the Pixel Motion Frame Blending between a timestretched sequence of images to get it to blend together, or to use Distort > Reshape, but I think that will only work if my from and to frames are more like profile images, not head-on images.
So I'm wondering if anyone has been able to achieve classic morphing between 2 front-looking faces within AE's native plugins at all.

AFAIK it's an OS limitation. It's the same on Macs and Windows. It's a pretty rare problem to run into - I can think of 3 times in about 15 years that it's happened to me, so even if it's something that Adobe can fix then it's probably pretty low on their priorities.

Thank you Chris,
This is a really ennoying error in AE,
Aren't they able to fix this?

Hi,
This happens when the total number of characters in the file path exceeds 255 characters. It usually happens when you have lots of folders nested inside each other, but can also happen if your directories and files have very long names. The solution is to either re-name the offending file with a shorter name, or if it happens a lot, then reduce the number of folders that are nested inside each other.

Good Morning everyone,
..... at least it is morning here in London :-)
I am dealing with a fast project that has grown like a fungus in all directions
during the last months and i am in the process of backing it up and i have to
do it very well since it is 130 GB big including all surplus assets which i dont
need anymore!
After reducing the project to its bare essentials I initiated 'collect files' and
received the following erroe message in AE CS5, AE CS5.5 and AE CS6:
After Effects error: File path "2min_Retail_J01_1-5.psd" is too long"
I used a lot of multilayered psd compositions ....
What does that mean and how can I resolve that ??..... I have thousands of files
that need backing up and need to separate them from the ones which are not
used in the project.
For any advice me and my client would be very grateful
Thanks and have a wonderful day
Peter
