Clicking the i key will take the CTI to the selected clip pinpoint.  o key for the outpoint.

Or, you can use the search box in the Timeline window to find a layer by name or text string.

Is there a shortcut for finding a selected layer? I"m working in a comp that has hundreds of layers. When I select a layer I want to find it quickly in the timeline. Of course key "D" takes you to a position on the timeline but what about showing a selected layer? Is there such a thing?
