As Mathias said you cannot access or create comp markers via scripting but my Layer Marker Batch Editor http://aescripts.com/layer-marker-batch-editor/ will allow you to export the markers to a text file so perhaps that can be useful somehow.

Hi Evan,

I am pretty sure there is no script that can do this, since the scripting api has no functions to generate comp markers.
Scrips only have access to layer markers, unfortunately.

(Good time for a feature request!)

You could try to do it by calling the menu command to set a comp marker via a script, but thats really a hack and no robust solution.

Best,
Mathias

Hello, is there a script that will copy layer markers and make them comp
markers?

the whole situation is as follows: We have plenty voice over wav files
recorded in SB where markers where added.
These wav files with their markers can be seen by AE but not AU (it only
opens the wav file with no markers)where we want to edit.
AU will neither recognize xml data exports of said markers.
So if there is a way to export markers from AE into AU in a way that AU
will recognize it would be great.
Thanks
