Ooh, glad to be wrong about that. To answer an earlier question I had, it looks like Amazon provides a couple of applications (most likely web) to access and use the Glacier. I believe that they call it AWS (Amazon Web Services).

I think for dropbox "cloud" purposes they have Amazon S3 services which seems pretty interesting but I have no experience using it. What I have had good experience using is Microsoft's SkyDrive. $10 for 20GB per year (you get 7GB free with a hotmail/windows live account). Dropbox has come in handy too but can get pricey. However you look at it, lots of good options out there.

I've taken to using BlueRay for general archival but I think glacier would come in handy for those projects you absolutely need to revisit later.

Nope... This is from the Getting Started section:

"Retrieving archives from Amazon Glacier requires the initiation of a job.
Jobs typically complete in 3 to 5 hours."

Probably acceptable download times for the vast majority of archived
material.
