Yep, I use animation presets a lot - I was mainly trying to avoid having that much text in many multiple places, and potentially save myself having to scroll past the stuff I don't need to change to get to the stuff that I do.

I do like the idea of putting an expression in a text layer and then
using Dan's expression to point to it. This would make editing values
not tied to an expression control easier for multiple uses of the same
expression. In fact, I liked it so much it's now one of my effects
presets.
