I don't know if my machine is setup with the optimal settings or this is
how AE normally behaves.

Im trying to preview audio of a HD movie to mark some timings and in the
comp there is some animation and it takes around 10 seconds for the audio
to playback after i presses the period shortcut even with the layer solo,
if  I take that same movie an drop it in a new comp after i press the
period keyboard shortcut it playsback instantly. It is the same movie why
it will behave differently?

Even regular ram previewing takes like 10-15 seconds to start caching to ram


Im on a macpro 26 gig ram 2X3gig quadcore AE CS5
