| Hi
Thanks for looking taking a shot at this. But the whole point was to set the precomp in continous raterize mode so the 3d layers was active in the main comp, and when you do that and try rotating the precomp in 3d the expression doesn´t "respect" the camera in the main comp, that was my problem.
I want the expression to react to the camera in the main comp.

Try this project and tell me if it doesn't work for you. http://bit.ly/QmCfyCOn Wed, Sep 26, 2012 at 8:32 AM, Robert Kjettrup <robert@stvmayday.dk> wrote:
Hi
I mainly do the precomp in this project for easier organization of the project. It is 5 small brochures each containing about 8 pages i have to flip through. Normally when i do this i do it with all the pages in the main comp and link them to a null, but i just thought i would give this workflow a try this time, and i just had a hope the expression would work through the precomp if it was set to continous rasterize. But, it didn't. not unmodified that is.
I will probably end up copy/paste the animation of the precomps to a null, and set up all the page layers in the main comp as i normally do :-)
Maybe it is time to do a small feature request for a checkbox on "flat" 3d layers to only render the front side, then you didn't have to use the expressin and it would work with the cont. rasterized 3d precomp too.

It might help if you posted a pic of what you're doing. If you're using continuosly rasterize, it doesn't really matter what the size of your precomps are, does it? Are you nesting your precomps for compositing, or for grouping/parenting/organizational purposes?

Thanks for the tip, but wont work in this case, since the precomps are not the same dimensions as the master comp, and the precomps also have animated translation in the master comp.
So i think an updated expression is the only way to go, or doing it manually with keyframes.... my last resort :-)

perhaps linking precomp camera's attributes to the main comp's one.
tell me if it works!
