I've never noticed flicker issues, but I'm used to looking at 23.976 PsF HD on an old Sony CRT. There were early complaints of flicker, but Sony did a free firmware upgrade on all of our monitors to add a "flicker free" mode. We are not set up for 3Gbps SDI or 4:4:4 monitoring...it is my understanding that those features aren't a big deal unless you're doing stereo work, which we're not. The picture on the OLED does turn an interesting shade of green and magenta when I output 4:4:4 to tape, though! We don't deal much with interlacing anymore as we work almost 100% of the time with 23.976 footage. We have to add 3:2 when mastering, but that is a simple process whose success can be evaluated in the tape room (it never fails.)
The "looks too good" concern is valid, as we use consumer LCDs as client monitors and the OLEDs obviously blow them away. We were hoping the Samsung and LG consumer OLED sets would be out by now, but they are not. Hopefully by the holidays!
I've also saw a discussion on the TiG where some folks were claiming that people over 40 saw a slight pink cast to a properly calibrated OLED, but no one here has seen it.

But this PVM version doesn't have 3Gbps SDI or 4:4:4 input as the Flanders? And the interlace processor is not that good on the PVM sony, not that this is a problem for me, but for others in our company it might be. We would like to standardise on one brand.
Do you have a problem with the OLED "flicker" on this model? some had an issue with this when we had the review monitor, some didn't see it. I didn't, might be because of me having gone past the 35th birthday :-)...getting older...
I would love to have this Sony monitor at my desk :-)

Sony PVM 24" OLEDs are amazing, and cost a only little more than the Flanders you mentioned.

The features probably don't line up exactly with the Flanders, but at least take a look and see if it works for you. The $1k/inch BVMs are the same panels with fancier processing on the back end to cover things like XYZ space for DI mastering that you might not need. I've had a PVM on my desk for the last 6 months or so and have been very, very happy with it for broadcast work.

Can this card play back rampreview from AE in realtime in 16 and 32bit projects to a SDI monitor? My current outdated legacy AJA card (KONA/XENA LH) cant playback 1080/25p 16bit projects in realtime and 32bit projects is just a bunch of scrambled mess on the SDI output. AJA gives some very vague feedback that this card is not supported anymore and the new cards are "updated", but nothing about the new cards being able to handle 16/32bit projects.
We are also about to change all our old trusty SD CRT Barco reference monitors to something more current (about time!) and i have suggested we should go with Flanders Sci. LM2461W. Is this also in here seen as the best vs. value monitor?
We have had a Sony OLED monitor for review, and it is absolutely fantastic, but a bit pricy if you want the same options as the Flanders. Does anyone have the TVlogic XVM series?
