Squeeze will crash if it is trying to encode a file that it doesn't understand. we are not on the latest version so it might be better now. We should just all ask adobe to implement a better h264 encoder in AME. ...some just did that to x264, the best h264 encoder by far. http://www.x264pro.com/ A bit pricy for a front end to a free codec though.
