I really like how OpenEXR was designed for VFX and is open source. It's
great that it has become a standard. I'd like to see something open like
that replace Quicktime. ProRes is a nice format, but it's not fully cross
platform. We need a good video format that can transcend one company. Apple
controls ProRes& Quicktime, DnxHD is Avid. Cinema DNG was brought out by
Adobe, but it seemed like they were working to make it more of a standard.
It will be interesting to see what the companies do that use it for camera
capture if it's really gone.
