I obviously can't comment on what we're doing in the future, but I can say that someone who wrote the above should be happy with what we're working on right now.
Regarding the whole CinemaDNG "discontinued" message: That is extremely confusing and badly worded. I'm going to go and write up an official clarification on the After Effects team blog right now. Stay tuned this afternoon.
The short version: All that has been discontinued is the Labs plug-in for Premiere Pro. CinemaDNG is now standard format that we have released to the world, so that anyone can develop it. After Effects CS6 (and earlier) read and use it. The performance is lousy, which is why Premiere Pro hasn't built the functionality in; After Effects users are more tolerant of non-real-time performance, so we still offer the feature. I've got CinemaDNG footage playing in After Effects in front of me right now.
