Hi Phil,

Yes, in CS6 check your Project Settings > Timecode > Footage Start Time is set to Use Media Source. then when you drag a clip with timecode onto the new comp button it will use that as the start timecode for your comp.

Then when you apply the Timecode effect it will read the comp timecode and display it for you.

If you already have a comp but want to change the timecode you can - you can adjust the Start Timecode for a comp in the Composition Settings.

cheers,

Angie

Is there a way in AE6 to render a QT file and set the start timecode?

I am shooting a bunch of stuff on greenscreen and want to do my keying in AE but render out files that keep the timecode of the source clip.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

PHil
