Encore and photoshop get along pretty well now. You can save an Encore menu as a file (a photoshop file) and that will give you a file with the layers named how encore wants them, which is rather convoluted at first look but is reasonable once you get used to it.

Unfortunately not. Ae makes it pretty easy to make Encore menus, though, because it names the buttons the way that Encore demands. All the info you need is in the Help files. Good luck.

FWIW, I had a DVDSP issue once that even reinstalling wouldn't fix. It was an error on build. I tried everything with no luck. I ended up doing part two of a two disk series in Encore. Lucky I had it on hand. But, it forced me to make an identical menu in Encore using the Encore method of making menus, which is entirely different, and a bit more obtuse.
Sad thing is
Apple won't be fixing DVDSP at this point.
