You could try doing less roto, but it's still going to be days and days, unless you are ok with the talent looking like Picasso paintings. Trying to get this look via post-processing (aka AE filters) tends to produce results along the lines of lumping people's eyes and the shadows underneath them into giant, dark blobs. Play around with cartoon look plugins and you'll see what I mean.
