Hey all,

I'm running into some gamma issues or something, which I've never seen 
before.

I've previously had issue with the H.264 bug, where renders would come 
out lighter, almost looking like their gamma was bumped up. I know what 
that looks like and how to alleviate it.

This however, is a completely different ball of yarn.

Basically.. I can take a ProRes 422 HQ file from my client (who works on 
a Mac)

Import it into AE on my PC, make a new comp from the footage, and add it 
to the render queue with Animation Codec at 100% - RGB - millions of 
colors, premultiplied matted..

when I render.. the render turns out to be DARKER than the source 
footage.. but only when viewed in QuickTime Player.

If I bring that render back into AE and do an A/B on the footage vs the 
source, they look identical.. .it's only when viewing in QT Player that 
they look different. and apparently when editing in FCP as well.

What's going on here?

I thought it might be a bit-depth thing, but I've set all 3 settings in 
project, and that changes nothing. I also tried some other codecs, 
including some "Trillions of Colors" codecs, because I noticed that the 
codec they provided source footage in said that in the project panel... 
still no avail.. I even ticked and unticked the "match legacy gamma" 
option in the project settings panel.. nothing doing..

Every piece of footage I send through AE looks darker when viewed 
side-by-side in QT...

This is the first time I've had this happen, and come to find out, ALL 
of the FX shots I've done for this Indie film have this happening.. so 
now I need to figure out how to change that, and also re-render abhout 
40+ FX shots, by tonight.. :\

any last minute help.....or shoves, would be greatly appreciated..
