I have the new bamboo pen. I use it as a travel tablet. It's Actually a pretty decent tablet. Amazon sells a travel case for like $20 so I just keep it in my bag for whenever I need it

But recently I got the new Intuos 5, and I picked up a Centiq 20HD for good measure... and they are leaps and bounds ahead of their predecessors. If the new Bamboos are as responsive as the Intuos 5, it might be worth a try.
