My wife is a hobby artist.. she draws amazingly well, and always has issues when it comes to "scan, digitize, clean up, etc. etc. etc. " for her artwork.. We figured the best route would be to get her a Cintiq, but the prices always kept us out of the club, considering this wouldn't be a purchase for working/income. This past Christmas, I got to thinking and started researching other options.. and I found a much better, in my opinion, solution. At least for her.. Motion Computing LE 1700 They're hard to find, because they don't make them anymore, but for Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop, Art Rage, etc. They run superbly! I found hers on eBay and it was like $400. but check these out. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=motion+computing+LE+1700&_sacat=0&_odkw=motion+computing&_osacat=0&_from=R40 It's got a Wacom digitizer, and it's a full windows machine.. her's had 4 GB of RAM and an SSD installed with Windows 7 which is why it was a bit more expensive.. But seriously, this gives a great feeling very akin to the Cintiq (Drawing directly on the screen), and you don't have to have it plugged into your desktop tower just to get it to work.. it's all in one. Anyway.. I'm not hired by Motion Computing or anything.. just figured I'd share while we were on a similar topic.. She loves hers.. it's battery life is a bit low, but for just hanging out on the couch, sketching and stuff, she just plugs it in and she's good to go. and they're much cheaper than a Cintiq as well. ///Greg Balint //Art Director / Motion Graphics Designer /321.514.4839 delRAZOR.com/ On 10/8/2012 5:17 AM, Angie-Taylor wrote: > I used to love Studio Artist too; > > http://synthetik.com/studio-artist-features-overview/ > > Haven't used it for a while though. > >> Angie have you played around with Artrage, its pencils have a real nice feel. >> > > +---End of message---+ > To unsubscribe send any message to > >
