Thanks Chris,

I usually toss in at least 1 second of head and tail just in case it's needed but they changed the VO on me and forced the graphics to go long. That killed the time remapping solution since some keyframes needed to be moved around (and I wasn't about to open the can of worms to time remap AND try to make things hit at different times).

The solution was to literally recreate a new element 3D layer and paste all the original settings over to it. Ironically, even that wasn't working in some cases which makes me wonder if it has something to do with AE's cache as well even after flushing it. Oh well, render is done and client has the files.

I'm sure I'm just scratching the surface of what can happen but I think I'll do some more experimenting with Element before I use it for client projects again. Lucky for me I have Cinema 4D and if I really feel like it, the 3D extrusion in AE although I think Cinema would be a better use of my time. Be warned folks, Element is fun to play with but like all new toys it has a couple of rough edges to work out :). Overall though, it's pretty keen. I think I'll download a demo of Zax's Invigorator Pro and see how that runs with my setup.

BTW, this is a good reminder to build handle into animations being handed off, Just In Case. Although I have to admit I wouldn't have normally built in 5 seconds at the end; usually I just add 2 to cover transitions etc.
