Basically we have our editors edit shots from a ProRes proxy that we = generate on set. When it is time to conform, I get the editors to export an XML from FCP = then in a text editor I simply do a search and replace to replace the = footage path and file extension from mov to r3d. When I load the xml into AE voila, I now have my edit made up of 5k = footage instead of the 1080 QT files. This has worked great until now. We just did a big shoot and because some of the takes are longer than = usual, the RED camera has split the file into multiple segments thus = breaking my amazing workflow. In our Smoke, we can just load the original XML and tell it to replace = the footage with RED footage and it automatically works. Any idea of a good way to conform in AE? Maybe I could do something in PP and get that into AE. Thanks.
