I just started noticing this today and it seems to be just what Robert is talking about. Using version 11.0.1. I don't remember having the problem in my last project I did in CS6. ... The nav menu doesn't pop up regardless of where the cursor is placed over the UI (comp, timeline, etc). On my current project, I can keep hitting shift for 10 seconds before the menu pops up while AE works out the cached frames. Frustrating and slowing me down as this is my main way of navigating my projects. - N On Fri, Oct 19, 2012 at 11:11 AM, Chris Meyer wrote: > Also make sure your cursor is hovering over the Comp or Timeline panels > when you tap Shift. Hi

Yes= i have also seen this in CS6, and i have noticed it happens when AE figure= s out what frames are cached and what frames can be recycled for the cache,= during that time the tab-shift key wont respond. You can use the button ov= er the timeline to access the same menu during the AE cache thinking proces= s, but it is quite annoying and should be fixed. It is really annoying on l= onger comps where it can take several seconds for AE to order the cache and= respond to the tab-shift key.

I've noticed I'm having a lot of trouble getting the 'tap shift= key'
to bring up the comp navigator popup recently. Sometimes i have to hit
