Scroll past the not-fully-getting-it answers straight to Tim Kurkoski's thorough and honest answers. The short version seems to be, AME renders using Current Settings (aside from a chance to toggle Guide Layer treatment), and you'll have to dive into AME's interface to reconstruct the Output Module settings you desire.
