I've done this before (oddly enough specifically with the Football) editing the texture with Photoshop will work fine

That sounds like a plan.  Maybe tough to line it up but can try.

In theory you could open up the texture for the football and modify it in Photoshop as well. No mucking about with 3D programs.

Im sure you could. But as I said, I don't work in 3d and never got my head around those programs.

Pure speculation here as I haven't used Element, but assuming the objects were created in something like Cinema 4D, could you not simply open them up in that program and make your changes there?

I rarely work in 3D but Element has given me some interesting tools to use in AE.  I was wondering if anyone knows if you can customize the objects in the motion packs?  For example, I want to use the football object as a chapter image with text on the football.  Is that possible?

thanks
