I also prefer not to have to click on mini-flowchart button in the timeline window. So if I'm in a project where shift-tapping doesn't bring up the flowchart, I just press Caps Lock first, then shift, use the flowchart, then tap caps lock off. The flowchart comes up right away when Caps Lock is enabled and this is quicker for me than clicking on the button in the timeline window.
