But then i tried, and it didn= 9;t work. And have just now checked again, and here the tab-shift doesn'= ;t register when AE is sorting cache (yes, the desatuated green indicators = turning green)

Maybe it is= a Windows/OSX different behaviour?

That's interesting -- 11.0.1 here (just realized I'm behind on a do= t update) on OSX 10.6.8 -- It actually seems to behave differently on this = setup than what you're seeing. =A0The current frame is rendered and dis= playing just fine, but I see the cache bar doing it's sorting thing (de= saturated green bar turning into more saturated green) and enabling caps lo= ck works for me to bring up the flowchart while this is in progress. Perhap= s that changed in 11.0.2? =A0Or it may be different on OSX as well.

Hi Nathan

Thanks for the tip about Caps Lock.=A0
I can see this works in cases where AE doesn't respond to the shift-= tab because it is rendering the current frame, but caps lock doesn't so= lve the problem with AE not registering the shift-tab if it is sorting the = cache on long comps. I still get no response if caps lock is pressed and AE= is sorting cache. CS6 (11.0.2), windows 7

...on the topic of caps lock... it would be nice if AE = would stop rendering=A0immediately when the caps lock was pressed, and not = like it is now where it seems like AE want to finish rendering the layer it= is rendering when the caps lock is pressed. It can be quite annoying when = working in renderheavy projects. But i guess i should give this as a featur= e request to Adobe instead of ranting here ;-)

Good idea, Nathan. I'll add that solution to the blog = post that I have about this issue.
