I have created a whole bunch of stuff in AE that is supposed to end up on a Blu-ray disc. I thought I was paying proper attention to the requirements of REC709 Blu-Ray encoding, which spans a pixel-value range of 16 (black) to 235 (max white).

I sent some uncompressed AVIs to the BD authoring house, they converted them to AVCs and burned them on a BD. When I got the BD back for testing, all the stuff near black (16) has been shifted upward in level. What have I done wrong here?  Is this a Working Space problem? All the projects have Color Management turned off and all the AVIs were rendered with preserve RGB checked, in the vain hopes that an RGB pixel value of 16 would come out as black. Should other settings have been used? Or is this something the authoring house can fix?
