| it so depends. I do simple comps in PP all the time because its RT with CUDA. I can even add a few filters like blurs, CC's, CK's, motion tab, and its still all RT. I can't begin to say how vastly more productive that is. I've normally got 3-6 layers going at any given time in my TL + a few fx and CUDA is just a pleasure. make changes, hit play, make changes, hit play. no waiting around for renders, or guessing at really low res / low FPS FCP type previews.... and of course smoke is NLE + compositor in one.
S In Premiere you can put the Effects panel in with the sequences, as another Tab. It's AE 1.0 stye but it gives you more room. It's not as quick for some things of course.

Although a feature in PR, I find time it consuming adjusting the
independent zoom level of effect controls TL. I would find it more
useful in AE where a whole load of fx are usually applied, so the
expanded layer could get very high and there, an independent effect
control panel with it own TL would be of use, but in PR it would be
much easier if the fx expanded under the video a la AE. |
