But some of their films do look like they use the same method we used with inserts in Flash. It does have an advantage to do it that way, it starts streaming alot faster. i tried to do my own version of the VW film and it was telling me for 10+ min that it was generating the film and i just gave up and closed the tab. I read something a few days ago that the average buffering time people had partience waiting before clicking away was 2 sec. :-D - Robert 2012/11/12 Richard Green > Hi Robert > > Thanks. Hi Robert

Thanks. =A0I'm not really a web guy but my= client is and they were saying exactly that. It had to be Flash before and= it was very hard edged and graphic but they were working with a company ca= lled Wonderland www.wonderlandmovies.de who reckoned they could do full Cinema 4d ren= ders on request from the website front end. I'd pointed out that it wou= ld still need a trip through After Effects to do the real compositing part = nicely and we could cut out the 3d rendering part entirely by using AE &= ; Mocha. There is still quite a bit of 3d in there but it's pre-rendere= d stuff that doesn't need to be editable. I assumed that Wonderland wer= e taking my AE files and somehow hooking them up to the website front end v= ia some form of script (as they were going to with the Cinema 4d files).=A0=
I haven't been onto the website but somebody told me it doesn'= t look exactly like my files so I could be wrong there=85

Looks great.

So, is there= an AfterEffects backend that renders this when requested?=A0
I h= ave been involved in one similar project on a much smaller scale than this,= but that was setup to play back in Flash. I had to make a flv video with a= n alpha to play ontop of flash objects with tracked translation data export= ed from AE, and the end result was not what i had hoped for. There are many= compositing tricks that can't be used when doing it this way :-(=A0
