I just reset the character frame and now it works.  Sorry.

Curious..and hoping not to sound too simple. What color of text are you using? I had this one time it blended with the back ground!

It wont show up in the comp....but it still has the text layer in the timeline....you can see it, you cant edit it, yo cant scale or do anything to it ....it's just gone!!!!

No error message.

That's a little ambiguous-- what do you mean it doesn't work? Do you get any sort of error message, does it crash the software, does text not show up after typing, etc?
