>=3B I can get into a lot of trouble for making specific pro= mises about features in future versions=2C but I'll say this:
>=3B >=3B I'm rather sure that you will not see a Linux version of After Effe= cts before you see a color swatch panel built into After Effects.

>=3B I didn't th= ink it was a rant=2C maybe it was a train of thought that got de-railed =3B= -)

>=3B I was thinking about two separate comments=2C first= ly that node-based compositing is a top feature request=2C and secondly tha= t Nuke and After Effects might be competitors. Although separate=2C I was = thinking about the potential for Adobe to implement node-based compositing = as an attempt to compete with Nuke. >=3B I suspect that at least some of th= e people who are requesting nodes in AE are wanting After Effects to become= Nuke=2C or hold some hope that it would open new markets to them. I think= this is wrong and it was to this thought - which I totally understand is n= ot what you meant - that I responded about the markets being different.

>=3B And I didn't mean to imply that adding nodes to After Eff= ects would alientate existing users=2C what I meant was that diverting reso= urces away from features that would be more useful would annoy existing use= rs. I would be really p****d if Adobe wasted resources on a linux port whe= n we still don't have a colour swatch palette or a histogram in the curves = effect.

>=3B That's what I mean by competition (Nuke). Thou= gh I don't think there's more than maybe a 30% functional overlap between t= hem.
