I'm working with large frame sizes, too, but I'm usually only rendering 16 or 32 and usually previewing in 8 bit for speed. Is there a reason you need to work in 16 and 32 when setting up a project and doing ram previews?

I'm pretty sure it's the fact I'm usually working in 16-bit and float
project at 5600 x 4200 pixels. CS6 has been a step back both on projects I
brought forward and new projects. It does perform better speed-wise overall,
but is buggier and I often have to turn MP off to make it behave whereas
CS5.5 would just not attempt it.
