| So I have a mac mini with wifi connected to my PC with a crossover ethernet cable. I have set up file sharing so that I can see the mac drives on my pc and vice versa, I can even use VNC for remote desktop to/from either machine. However the mac mini seems determined to use the wifi for file sharing which maxes out around 5 MB/s for file transfers. When I disable wifi it will use the ethernet cable which is more like 55 MB/s, which is the goal. So I'd like to tell the machine only to use ethernet to connect to my home network for file transfer, and use wifi for internet connection only. When I tried to change the adapter settings (like workgroup) in network prefs on the mac, it wouldn't let me choose workgroup per internet adapter, only for the whole machine. Anyone know how to do this? Or an alternate way to set it up?
