Great advise on the testing part, and if the AE team needs more input, I'll be able to give them that. I'll also check the copying-pasting of the mask, because I know what should be in there ;) thanks for the time you spend on it! Found it quite strange that the dynamic link and Premiere Pro where mentioned in the crash report. Haven't used PP (or AME) on this project at all, actually just started the project 2 hours prior to the crash. I recommend r= eporting it as a bug rather than asking Todd to add another task to his To = Do list.=A0 It is good policy with one of the reasons being that you can pr= ovide more details should they be needed.=A0 For example, the AE team may q= uestion how the paths were created and how they might have gotten corrupted= along the way.=A0 I see two possible bugs: (1) AE should be popping an err= or regarding the masks rather than crashing and (2) how did the masks becom= e corrupted?

=A0<= /p>

During my testing, som= etimes copying/pasting the paths worked OK; and sometimes AE crashed and up= on restart AE would pop the message =93After Effects error: could not parse= mask shape on clipboard=94.=A0 The crash or no crash may have been determi= ned by the levels at which I performed the copy then paste.

=A0<= /p>

Even when copying/pasting did not crash AE, I=92m not sure that the pa= sted paths were identical to the original, because the shape=85 boundaries = values were different even when the Comp settings and Transform values were= identical between the source comp&layer and the destination comp&l= ayer.=A0 And AE would not let me manually copy/paste the four boundary valu= es successfully =96 AE would appear to accept the four individual values wh= ich I pasted but upon reopening the shape=85 dialog AE would have overridde= n one of the values.

Thanks E= d,=A0

=A0

that is a big help... just couldn't figure out= what the deal was with the crash.

=A0

But still, is this a new bug? Because the Mask isn't tha= t special, just a couple of points and beziers, no special CS6 featered par= ts.

Should I send it in as a bug? Or will Tod= d pick it up from the list ;) ?

=A0

I have just = deleted the layer and have started over with the image, masking and keyfram= ing, no problems after that.

=A0

kind regards,

The crash appea= rs to be related to the masks rather than the jpg.=A0 If you delete the mas= ks, no crash.=A0

=A0

hi All,

=A0=

I've got a bizarre crashing scene= in AE CS6.

=A0

I've cleaned out the whole project an= d it's one layer with transforms: position, scale and opacity keyframed= , that will crash every time it's on (eye-radiobutton).

There is no real special things happening= , just position move, scale (with a minus X to flip it) and an opacity that= goes to zero.

=A0

I've replaced the file before, am usi= ng the file in other places with no problem.

=A0

It keeps giving me the report:=A0

After Effects error: Crash in progress. L= ast logged message was: <3392>

<DynamicLink> <5> C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe P= remiere CS6\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe

=A0

and a second window with the regular message that AE has cra= shed and to get technical support and the ( 0 :: 42).

=A0

I've collected it, and put it in a zip on my dropbox:=A0https://www.dropbox.com/s/lg80xq9fdykurqb/crashing-scene-folder= .zip

=A0

It's only 1.8Mb. Maybe someone else can test it?<= u>

=A0

=A0

One more thing, I= 9;ve I kill all the keyframes and turn the visibility back on, it gives me = another kind of crash report:

After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <4024&g= t;

<ae.blitpipe <2= > Making New Context

=A0

(I've read Mylen= iums post on this issue, and changed my windows settinges, still crashing ;= ( )

=A0

=A0

Thanks alot,

=A0=

kind regards,=
