It will save you = a lot of time and expense over digitizing equipment, and depending on = how well your TV automatically cleans/upscales the VHS signal, the = results of recording VHS playback off a flat screen in a properly-lit = room may be better than a straight transfer anyway, which will typically = be filled with drop-outs, scanning issues etc. It's non-intuitive, but for me it has given consistently good results, = on short clips anyway.
