appar= ently when you format the drives this way osx is supposedly managing it as = a fusion drive.

Its similar but not the same as a hybrid dr= ive that has a few GB of flash memory caching files

Any reason that you didnt keep them separate?

If you want to use an SSD for the AE cache there is n= o way to set unless you have a discreet SSD.

i work at a place where they put an SSD in an external TB case and hav= e it mounted to the back of the imac and thunderbolt connected, so thats an= option as well.

If you have an extra system that = you want to see how it may work there apparently is a way from the terminal= to make your HD and SSD one volume and OSX will manage it as a fusion driv= e. i have it tried it so ymmv...

I'm mostly wondering how well it'll work with an AE = cache? And if you can determine what is installed on the SSD in the fusion = drive setup. for instance, I have a ton of apps that I really don't car= e if they are on the SSD or not, I just want my pro apps on the SSD, and th= en use the remaining space for the AE cache.
