It's perfectly possible to use layer maps, it's just one helluva= bitch to get them to align properly. Doing it in plexus would indeed be a = lot quicker and more painless. Also of course consider Element 3D. Would be= easy enough to blend between two groups there or animating a few parameter= s for offset and randomization...
