I ran the updater, which failed, and also damaged my app so that it would not launch. So, I uninstalled Ai, and reinstalled from my DMG installer. Then ran the updater again. Success. The standalone updater is not yet available at the Adobe site. Anyway, hope that's helpful if anybody else encounters the same problem. Jim C.
