I can only assume, not being really savvy about the font world, that they are simply knock-offs, the legality of which, I do not know. Sorry! Frank Wylie ******** Frank, The site you recommended sells the font for $30. However, I noticed that it can be downloaded for free from here: http://www.fonts101.com/fonts/view/Uncategorized/30288/Silentina_Film Or here: http://www.fontpalace.com/font-download/Silentina+Film/ I wonder what the difference might be, other than cost? Knock-offs? -e From: Reply-To: After Effects Mail List Date: Sunday, January 20, 2013 1:26 PM To: After Effects Mail List Subject: Re: [AE] old time movie font? Silentina is used often in actual silent film restorations... http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/typodermic/silentina/ Problem is, most intertitles were hand lettered, so a font looks too uniform to the picky, but I don't know of anyone who still practices the art of hand lettering for signs. Of course, by hand-kerning the text, you can get a lot closer to a more agreeable look. Frank Wylie +---End of message---+ To unsubscribe send any message to
