thanx, you're right with the usability issue.. I'm just looking for an as much as possible portable/ low profile/ neat & simple solution with minimal cost using existing hardware. Perhaps the next step would be a galaxy note/tab 2 don't remember which one has the wacom pen or one of the asus/ Samsung slates... But that is 5-10x the cost of an appletv box, so even if I get a modified functionality out of it it'be nice. I'll probably start asking some friends who own it give it a try.. Honestly, for all the trouble / latency issues this would entail I think you'd be better off using a wacom tablet and a computer with HDMI/DVI out (like a laptop, mac mini or desktop) to an HDTV or monitor / projector. Like you said, the 30 pin connector is delicate and probably not great for ipad HDMI out while drawing - I use it for streaming video but it's wonky and likes to disconnect frequently, even when resting on a stand. I don't have an apple tv to test this with but I've used wireless airdisplay before and I don't think the latency is tolerable for live drawing. Of course, a large cintiq could be the answer if you've got a couple extra grand lying around. At worst you buy an appletv and return it if it doesn't work though. |
