| I would also suggest checking out the artofthetitle.com for inspiration.
It is a collection of opening titles and some of them have interviews with the creators outlining the process. Producers Playhouse Oklahoma City 405-858-0700

If you want examples of innovative info graphics then you could check out Edward Tufte's print work. He's kind of a big deal. I've enjoyed looking through his books but I don't find them quite relevant enough to the corporate motion graphics I do to justify their hefty price. He's very clever but I'm not sure he's a practical influence on motion graphics - I guess that's a personal thing though. His website is here, YMMV:
In terms of corporate motion graphics, most of what I have seen in the last few years can be traced back to one of three sources:
Stranger than fiction (3D camera tracking, compositing into the scene)
The Crisis of Credit Visualised (clients seem to love this one)
Social Media Revolution (there a many versions of this, I don't know which one is the original)
And in addition, the opening titles to "The Kingdom" are great, it feels like a complex motion graphics piece but if you analyse it carefully much of the impact comes from excellent audio and video editing, the graphics are relatively minimal:
I'm not suggesting you adopt the style of one of those videos, only that they're popular and easy to sell to clients.
There was an Australian TV show called "Hungry Beast" that featured extensive motion graphics, and I can't think of another TV show where motion graphics were so strongly linked to the show's identity and style. They have a YouTube page, but you have to sift through the videos to find the motion graphics clips. The "Google" one they did went viral but there are many others worth watching too:

You should take a look at the new features introduced in Plexus v2. There are some great things you can do with it like 3D splines, instances etc., not just the standard points and lines style.

I have only done one job with Plexus, and it's a nice plugin. I like the way the plugin and interface has been designed but it's pretty easy for everything done in Plexus to look the same. I'd love to see some examples of how people have used Plexus to come up with treatments that don't look like the standard 'plexus look' - it's one of those plugins where you can see a TVC or a showreel and instantly think "that was done with plexus".Nice piece. Plexus is a particle System that I have been interested in playing with, but haven't really had a job that justified purchasing.
B Nicely done. What is Plexus?

I've stumbled upon this video today and I think they did a great job of making infographics to explain a boring subject.
Its not a plug, but they've used Plexus extensively.

Years back, there was a book by Attik that is almost timeless for
techno ideas. "You work for Them" on the web might spark an idea.

This shoe is a static product shot and needs to have various areas labeled such as "midsole, heel cup etc. I did a pass using Trapcode Stroke to create lines and text animation to bring in text. Its okay. But I starting to think I could find a more interesting template to work from. Something with animated circles around the areas and more "tech" looking type and line creation. I went on to Video Hive but did not really find much. Part of the problem is what do you call what I am looking for? Diagram, product labeling?? Anyone have an suggestions or advice where to look for inspiration?
