But if you render seqences alot, like i do, then get the BG Renderer script from aescripts.com. With this i just set the job up in the Render Queue and launch several instances of the BG Render to overwrite the segments of the sequence, one at a time changing the workarea in/out. Launching several aerender processes ofcourse make them each load the project, and you can get into RAM shortage or they will fight over CPU resources if it is a heavy project. But it is a workflow i use alot, since i can set at segement up to render while i keep working on another part of the timeline. If you have fast CPUs and plenty of ram, you will love this :-) There even is a demo version of the script that i think is full functional for a few days/weeks. - Robert 2013/2/2 Phil Spitler > Yup > delete the bad files from your drive then click the "skip existing frames= " > button in the render settings. > > Set the range to be from 0-5000 and AE will only render the missing frame= s. > > Sounds like this is just what you need. > > Phil > > > > *Phil Spitler* | Creative Technologist | *Bonfire Labs* | t : > 415.394.8200 m : 415.571.3139 > > Website | Facebook| > LinkedIn > > On Feb 2, 2013, at 2:33 PM, Elliot Steele wrote: > > Right chaps/chapesses, this is something that has been bugging me for > ages & I=92m pretty sure I=92m just missing something obvious... > > Example: > I have a comp which is 5000 frames long. > I=92ve already rendered this to a folder as sequential tiffs. > I need to change various parts of the comp & re-render the frames which > are different. > For example frame 0-750, 1250-2500 & 4000-5000. > I set up 3 render jobs, one for each chunk of files, however AE won=92t l= et > me set of the queue & go to bed & gives me the message *=93the name of th= e > selected output module is already in use. please choose another name.=94*= which I can=92t because all the files have to have the same names. > > I=92m currently having to wait for each part to finish before submitting = the > next job, which is a bit of a pain as I want to go & watch telly. > > Is there any solution to this, just using the render queue (without > net-rendering, command-line rendering etc.)? > > Many thanks in advance! > > Cheers > > Elliot > > > --bcaec51b1971585d1b04d4c5e2a2 Content-Type: text/html; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
The easiest way to do it with standard AE tools= , is the way Phil describes, delete the frames you want to overwrite and se= t it to "skip existing frames".

But if you render seqences alot, like i do, then get the BG Renderer script= from aescripts.com. With this i just = set the job up in the Render Queue and launch several instances of the BG R= ender to overwrite the segments of the sequence, one at a time changing the= workarea in/out.
Launching several aerender processes ofcourse make them each loa= d the project, and you can get into RAM shortage or they will fight over CP= U resources if it is a heavy project. But it is a workflow i use alot, sinc= e i can set at segement up to render while i keep working on another part o= f the timeline.=A0
If you have fast CPUs and plenty of ram, you will love this :-)<= /div>

There even is a demo version of the sc= ript that i think is full functional for a few days/weeks.

Yup
= delete the bad files from your drive then click the "skip existing fra= mes" button in the render settings.

Set the range to be from 0-5000 and AE will only render= the missing frames.

Sounds like this is just what= you need.

Right chaps/chapesses, this is something that has been bugging me for= ages & I=92m pretty sure I=92m just missing something obvious...

Example:
I have a comp which is 5000 frames long.
I=92ve already rendered this to a folder as sequential tiffs.
I need to change various parts of the comp & re-render the frames which= are different.
For example frame 0-750, 1250-2500 & 4000-5000.
I set up 3 render jobs, one for each chunk of files, however AE won=92t let= me set of the queue & go to bed & gives me the message =93the n= ame of the selected output module is already in use. please choose another = name.=94 which I can=92t because all the files have to have the same na= mes.

I=92m currently having to wait for each part to finish before submitting th= e next job, which is a bit of a pain as I want to go & watch telly.

Is there any solution to this, just using the render queue (without net-ren= dering, command-line rendering etc.)?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers

Elliot
