Definitely get an SSD! I use a 2008 iMac at home running Snow Leopard, it was getting a bit old and slow and I was thinking about buying a new one but have been trying to save cash. Then a faulty powerboard killed the main HD and forced my hand. I decided to replace it with an SSD and install mountain lion. The difference is amazing - it is like a new machine. It boots in a few seconds, apps launch almost instantly, everything zips along. Can't believe the speed difference! -Chris |
